Jakub Moder has been told what he can do for Poland – as he hopes for more Premier League chances.

The winter arrival from Lech Poznan made a brief but promising Prem debut as Albion lost 1-0 at West Brom.

He would love to add to that on Saturday against Leicester, the opponents when he made his Seagulls bow in the FA Cup.

Moder is in the plans of new Poland boss Paulo Sousa as he prepares for this month’s World Cup qualifiers against Hungary, Andorra and England.

He would love to be involved at Wembley on March 31 – with more Prem minutes under his belt.

Sousa has not yet told the media his thoughts on individuals, other than star man Robert Lewandowski.

Moder has six senior caps and Michael Karbownik, who has yet to play for Albion in the Prem, has featured three times.

INJURY WOE FOR PREM RIVALS

An Argus source in Poland said: “Unofficially we know that both the Brighton guys are in the group of players that Sousa contacted and considers them very seriously as it comes to the March games, for Moder, and more generally for qualifiers and Euro 2021, for Karbownik."

Moder is delighted to have his first league minutes in this country.

He said: “It was a big moment for me as I have been waiting for my debut for a while.

“I am very happy to have had the chance but that’s mixed in with the disappointment of us losing which was difficult to take.”
