Albion and Liverpool legend Jimmy Case is recovering from Covid-19.

The former midfielder has been undergoing hospital treatment in Winchester.

He has praised staff who have been looking after him and other patients in trying circumstances.

Speaking in a report by ITV News Meridian, Case said: “I know everybody knows they do a fantastic job but, when you see it first hand, not just for me but for everybody around the ward, from the doctors to whoever cleans the tables, it is unbelievable what they do.”

Case was treated at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital.

He is now back at home and doing well as he continues his recovery.

ALBION DUO SPREAD STRONG ANTI-RACISM MESSAGE

Case still holds a huge part in the affections of Seagulls fans from the 1980s.

He played for Albion in the top flight and helped them reach the FA Cup final in 1983, scoring memorable goals against Liverpool, Norwich and Sheffield Wednesday en route.
