Albion defender Rebekah Stott has spoken about her shocking cancer diagnosis.
The 27-year-old confirmed last month that she was not going to feature in the rest of the Seagulls WSL season due to medical reasons.
Last night Stott took to Twitter to reveal she has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which is uncommon cancer that develops in the lymphatic system.
Within the post there was a video of Stott, who spoke about she found out about her diagnosis.
Three weeks ago I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I know the journey ahead will be difficult, but I want to face each obstacle with a positive mindset and help inspire others who have blood cancer too. Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/JsAORHhLG7

She said: "There was something not right as I had two big lumps on my neck that were growing.
"So it was pretty intense and stressful but at the same time I had a lot of support around me.
"I went to get biopsy and asked the lady there would do you think it could and she said "It could be Lymphoma."
"I went on google and researched it a bit and found out there was lots of different types, but it is very treatable and curable, especially in young people.
"With Covid getting home was a bit of an issue, so if it is bad I'm going to need to get back as soon as possible.
"I was actually in quarantine when I got the results that I had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
"I was glad I knew what it was and how I was going to deal with it."
