Albion will be hoping to break an unwanted record on Saturday when they host Leicester (8pm, Sky Sports).

The Seagulls have failed to win any of the seven Premier League meetings between the two sides (drawing two and losing five).

In those seven games they have also failed to find the back of the net in five.

The reverse fixture at the King Power in December ended in a 3-0 defeat with James Maddison grabbing a brace and Jamie Vardy scoring the other.

However, Maddison who played a starring role in that game for Leicester will not be involved this time around.

The 24-year-old is currently out with a hip injury and Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers confirmed on Monday that he will not feature against Albion.

He said: “I don’t believe so (he is available for this weekend’s game at Brighton). Speaking with the medical team, they are hoping to have him on the grass, being able to run, and do some movement patterns.

“But I don’t think it’s kicking the ball, so I wouldn’t want to forecast that for the weekend.”

One player who enjoys playing against the Seagulls is Vardy.

The 34-year-old striker has netted five goals and got three assists in 10 appearances against Albion in all competitions.

Graham Potter’s side head into the game after back-to-back defeats to Crystal Palace and West Brom which have left them just three points above the bottom three.

But with Fulham hosting Tottenham this evening, Albion could find themselves even closer to the relegation zone before they kick-off at the Amex on Saturday.

The Seagulls will be hoping to be clinical in front of goal than they have been in recent games.

In their last three matches, they have had 65 attempts, of which 20 have been on target but scored just one goal in return.

When you look at the number of shots they have had this season it makes for good reading.

Albion (349) have had the sixth-most shots in the league with only Chelsea (366), Leeds (367), Manchester United (370), Liverpool (399), and Manchester City (418) having more.

But out of those 349 attempts, they have scored 26 goals, with only Fulham, West Brom, Burnley, and Sheffield United having less.

Albion have been breaking records this season by picking up a win over Liverpool for the first time since 1984, as well as putting together their best unbeaten run in the Premier League with six matches.

But the Seagulls will be hoping to add a first Premier League win over Leicester to that list this weekend.
