Albion head coach Graham Potter has given a fitness update on Tariq Lamptey and the rest of his squad ahead of their clash with Leicester on Saturday (8pm, Sky Sports).

Lamptey has been out with a hamstring injury since December.

However, ahead of the defeat to West Brom last weekend, Potter confirmed that the 20-year-old was back in training and there was a ‘chance’ he would be involved in the squad for their trip to the West Midlands.

Despite that Lamptey did not make the squad at the Hawthorns, but ahead of their clash with the Foxes at the Amex, Potter has given an update on the defender’s fitness

He said: “Tariq won’t be fit, he has a little setback this week so it is disappointing for him. We just need to get to the bottom of that, but he won't be available for the weekend.”

Potter was then asked what the setback was, to which he replied: "We are just trying to get to the bottom of it, but it is a problem with his hamstring, so he is seeing a specialist to find out really.

"But at the moment all we know is he is not available for the weekend, the same as Adam Webster and Solly March.

"Aaron Connolly had a slight problem today a spasm in his back, so we need to see how he is tomorrow.

"Apart from that we are okay from there."
