Adam Lallana has his first goal in Albion colours.

The former Liverpool star made the breakthrough at home to Leicester City this evening.

It was his first start since December 27 and he netted for the first time since equalising for Liverpool at Manchester United in October, 2019.

Lallana started in a role just off front man Neal Maupay and the two teamed up for the tenth-minute opener.

As he has done while the goals haven't been going in for him, Maupay produced some good approach work.

He committed two defenders and slid the right pass.

Lallana was calm as he sent Kasper Schmeichel, who has denied Albion so often in recent seasons, the wrong way.

The goal was reward for a bright start by Albion and a bold selection by Graham Potter.

He used Pascal Gross on the right of midfield and Leandro Trossard down the middle while Alexis Mac Allister was central with Yves Bissouma.

Lallana later sent a glancing header against the post from a Gross free-kick.
