Spain have been doing their homework on Robert Sanchez.

National team boss Luis Enrique today described the Albion goalkeeper as a youngster with great potential.

He has named Sanchez in his squad for the next three World Cup qualifiers.

Kepa Arrizabalaga of Chelsea has been left out.

Sanchez has done enough in Premier League outings to alert the Spanish coaching set-up.

Enrique revealed they then studied data from previous seasons.

Sanchez joins David de Gea and Unai Simon in the national squad.

Enrique said: “Robert has appeared in the Premier League and we have gathered information about him from previous years.

“He is a young player with a great deal of potential. An interesting player.

“We are delighted to bring him into the squad and that he can show us his potential.”
