Albion striker Aaron Connolly says he “could have done better” with some scoring chances.

But he hopes to be fit in time to put that right during the forthcoming international fixtures.

Connolly missed the Seagulls win at Southampton due a cracked rib.

He is subject of an internal investigation by his club into a report he broke lockdown rules earlier this month.

Connolly remains in close contact with his Republic of Ireland boss Stephen Kenny.

Speaking to balls.ie with reference to the national team, the striker suggested he could be back for the Republic’s game against Serbia on March 24.

He has yet to score for the senior national side and has had a hit-and-miss season with his club.

Connolly said: “That’s the aim with any team I play for - to score goals and take some responsibility when it’s going good, and when it’s not going so well.

“I take responsibility for the fact that it hasn’t been good enough recently.
