Albion striker Aaron Connolly has been ruled out of Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg tomorrow and their friendly against Qatar on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old has now returned to Albion after going off injured in their 3-2 defeat to Serbia on Wednesday.

His 67-minute appearance was his first outing since February 27 and he was feeling the effects of cramp and what appeared to be a calf issue before his withdrawal.

He was a doubt for the game against Luexembourg after an interrupted build-up and a spell on the sidelines with Albion due to a cracked rib and Irish boss Stephen Kenny must now plan without him for tomorrow's  match at the Aviva Stadium.
