Adam Lallana says Albion must believe they can win at Old Trafford.

The midfielder has revealed the squad have “spoken between each other” during tough times this season.

But the Seagulls have emerged from a five-game winless run to enjoy back-to-back successes which have opened a gap over the bottom three.

They now prepare to visit Manchester United on Sunday and will use their 1-0 success at Liverpool as a reason to believe they can pull off a shock.

Lallana, who scored at Old Trafford last season for Liverpool, said: “I feel that mentality is changing.

“When I first came here in the summer, did I feel we believed we could go to a so-called big team in their back yard and win? I’m not sure.

“I feel that side of our game, our belief, our mentality is changing.

“There are certain processes that need to happen.

“People who know football know that doesn’t happen overnight.

“That comes with a consistent level of training, a consistent level of standards, discipline amongst the group.

“I feel that is coming and what a great test our next match is for us, at Old Trafford.

“There is no reason why we can’t go there and take all three points and get a positive result.”

Albion followed success at Aston Villa in November by going nine games without a win, then six unbeaten followed by five with no victories and, now, back-to-back victories.

Lallana revealed honest words had been said behind the scenes duding some of the tougher times.

He said: “There have probably been a couple of moments this year where we have spoken between each other.

“I won’t go into too much detail but there has e been a couple of moments.

“You have them as a team.

“Some people say they are defining but there have been frustrations but you kind of evolve and grow as teams in those bad moments.

“We have acknowledged that and shown humility in certain times where we say we need to be better, we need to do things better.

“We need to improve, it’s not good enough, “As a result of that we have performed better.”
