Leandro Trossard has stepped up a level, according to his international boss.

The Albion star scored twice for Belgium as they thrashed Belarus 8-0 last night.

Red Devils manager Roberto Martinez says he has noticed a greater maturity about Trossard since he was last with the national team in the autumn.

Martinez was delighted to see him build on the club form which has seen him score in the last two Premier League games.

And he addressed comparisons between Trossard and Belgium star Eden Hazard.

Trossard has lacked consistency since moving to Albion but he has now scored in three successive starts for club and country.

Martinez said: "He has taken a step forward in maturity since the October and November international get togethers.

“Since then, he has been really impressive.

“What he did on his way up to the game in Prague (a 1-1 draw in which Trossard went on as sub) shows he's ready.”

JAKUB MODER COULD MAKE ALBION HISTORY AT WEMBLEY

Martinez said Trossard produced “a complete performance” against Belarus.

Trossard’s physique and style of play make comparisons with Hazard inevitable - but only when the Albion man is performing well.

Martinez said: “They are different players but they have a similar profile, even if they are not comparable.

“They operate in the same area of the field and are right-footers who play on the left.”
