How Albion’s players rated in their defeat to Manchester United:

Robert Sanchez 7/10:

Did not have an effort to save in the first half. Did well to come off his line quickly and thwart Bruno Fernandes.

Could do nothing about the goals from Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood.

Pascal Gross 7/10:

Put in some dangerous deliveries from set pieces including for the free kick, which Lewis Dunk headed onto the bar.

Ben White 7/10:

Made a couple of good tackles and was calm at the back against the side which he is a target for.

He was also unclucky not to be able to prevent the ball from going in for the winnner.

Lewis Dunk 7/10:

Was unlucky not to double their lead after his header was tipped onto the bar by Dean Henderson.

Joel Veltman 6/10:

Made a couple of loose passes but did well against Greenwood.

Somehow got anyway without any pusnishment for a bad tackle on Fernandes in the build-up to the equaliser.

Jakub Moder 8/10:

Another impressive display from the Polish midfielder at left wing back.

He made some good attacking runs and was unlucky not to score his second goal this week after his effort was deflected inches wide of the post.

He was replaced by Alireza Jahanbakhsh in the 86th minute.

Yves Bissouma 7/10:

Took an awkward landing early when battling for the ball with Edinson Cavani, but he was okay.

He did well alongside Adam Lallana in middle and broke up some dangerous attacks.

Adam Lallana 8/10:

A great display from the midfielder. He was at the heart of everything that Albion did well.

He made some great tackles to break up play and was commanding in the middle of the park.

He was replaced by Andi Zeqiri in the 86th minute.

Leandro Trossard 7/10:

Did well at pressing from the front and made some good interceptions as United tried to play out from the back.

Was replaced by Alexis Mac Allister in the 63rd minute.

Neal Maupay 8/10:

Put in a great cross to set up Danny Welbeck for the opening goal of the game.

He also did well at holding up the ball against a much bigger and more physical player in Harry Maguire.

Danny Welbeck 8/10:

A great performance on his return to where his career began.

He made a great run in front of his Aaron Wan-Bissaka to head the ball and then reacted well to score on the follow-up.

Also he did some great defensive work during the match and at some points was playing as a defensive midfielder when Albion did not have the ball to try and win it back.
