Adam Webster has revealed his injury frustration - as he closes in on a return.

Albion are weighing up whether to bring back the defender for their home game against Everton on Monday after what is so far a seven-match absence.

Webster initially expected to make a quick return.

That did not happen but, along with fellow defender Dan Burn (hamstring), he has been back in training this week.

Webster said: “I was very frustrated to pick up the injury at a time when we were doing really well and I felt like I was playing really well as well.

“But I’m not far away now.

“I’ve really stepped up the rehab over the last ten days.

“It took a while for it to improve.

“Then all of a sudden it just sort of clicked and I’m feeling much better now.”

Webster suffered the injury during the 1-1 draw at Burnley two months ago.

He said: “At first I didn’t think it was too bad.

“I tried to play on but I couldn’t put any weight through it really.

“I came off and it was sore but I’ve done my ankle before and it has felt a lot worse.

“It didn’t balloon up massively so I was pretty hopeful and so were the physios.

“As soon as it happens you have just got to get on with it and try to get back as quick as possible.”

DANNY WELBECK SET TO TALK OVER HIS ALBION FUTURE

Head coach Graham Potter stopped short of declaring Webster or Burn fit for the Everton game as he spoke to the media yesterday.

But he sounded hopeful of a defensive boost or two.

Potter said: “Both trained today. That’s good for us and we’ll see how they respond.

“It’s really positive and it’s nice to have them back.

“There’s a few more sessions to go yet and Adam has been out a while, so we need to see how he reacts. We’ll take it as we go.”
