Albion will be hoping that Florin Andone’s injury is nothing too serious after his return was cut short.

The Romanian international started for the under-23s in their 3-0 win over Southampton yesterday afternoon in the BPL 2 at the American Express Elite Performance Centre.

It was his first game time since June 2020, after he picked up a knee ligament injury whilst on loan at Turkish side, Galatasaray.

However, after a nine-month lay-off, the striker was taken off 11 minutes into the game after he pulled up with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

The Seagulls took no risks and he was replaced by Evan Ferguson, who was fresh from scoring a brace for the under-18s.

It would not have been a sight that head coach Graham Potter and Albion fans would not have wanted to see.

Moises Caicedo and Michal Karbownik were also in the starting XI after being unused substitutes at Old Trafford last weekend and impressed in the victory.

Caicedo was involved in the move which set up Cashman for the second goal, while Karbownik looked lively at right-back and was always looking to get the Seagulls on the front foot.

The young Polish international combined well with Cashman on the right and set-up skipper Teddy Jenks to complete his brace in the 82nd minute.
