Leeds skipper Liam Cooper will miss their trip to the Amex next month after seeing red in their win over Manchester City.

The 29-year-old centre back was initially shown a yellow card by referee Andre Marriner late on in the first half for a poor tackle, which saw him collide with the knee of City striker Gabriel Jesus.

However, VAR suggested Marriner take a second look at the incident again on the pitchside monitor and after reviewing the footage upgraded the card to a red and Copper had to go for an early bath.

The Argus:

It means he will now miss their games at home to Liverpool and Manchester United plus their clash with Albion at the beginning of May.

Leeds were 1-0 up at that point thanks to Stuart Dallas.

City pushed for an equaliser in the second half and were rewarded with 15 minutes to go, after Bernardo Silva flicked the ball into the path of Ferran Torres and the Spaniard clipped it past Illan Meslier.

However, In stoppage time Leeds went back ahead as Dallas grabbed his brace, racing onto a fine ball from Ezgjan Alioski and finishing superbly from the edge of the area.
