Sussex bowler Jofra Archer is set to resume training this week following an operation on his right hand at the end of last month.

The 25-year-old needed surgery to remove a piece of glass which became lodged in his finger when he smashed a fish tank in the bath while trying to clean it.

However, just two weeks later Sussex have confirmed that Archer will resume light training this week alongside both Sussex and England's medical teams.

It is hoped that he will be able to up his intensity with his bowling from next week.

The ECB will provide a further update on Jofra's elbow injury once he has returned to bowling and the effectiveness of his recent injection has been assessed.

No decision has been made as yet on when Archer is due to return to playing.
