Albion winger Reda Khadra is hoping to kick on after signing a new deal at the club.

The 19-year-old signed a new two-year deal on Tuesday which will keep him on the South Coast until June 2023.

He is currently out with ankle injury, but he is hoping to hit the ground running once he returns.

Speaking to the clubs website, he said: “I feel really good and fit at the moment.

"But once I am back from my injury, I want to get a really good pre-season under my belt and kick on from there.”

Khadra has already made an impact at the club after joining in the summer from Borussia Dortmund.

In his first six appearances for the U23s he scored three goals and got two assists.

That form saw him named on the bench in Albion's FA Cup third round tie against Newport.

Three days later he made his Premier League debut against Manchester City at the Etihad coming off the bench in the 86th minute.

He was also an unused substitute in their win over Leeds three days later.

But Khadra admits he was shocked to have been involved with the first team so early on.

He said: “I didn’t expect that involvement to come that quickly to be honest, but of course it was great for me.

“I trained with the likes of Leandro Trossard and Danny Welbeck who are both attacking players, just to be in that environment with those sorts of players will really help me as a player going forward.

“The conversations I had with Graham Potter, Billy Reid and all the coaching staff are really good, and I know this is the right environment for me to keep getting better and make progress.”
