Albion's top scorer Neal Maupay is aiming to beat his goal tally from last season.

The 24-year-old scored ten goals in his debut season in the Premier League in the 2019/20 campaign.

So far this season, he has netted eight times, with seven games left to play this season.

It has not been pain sailing for the striker this season.

He begun the campaign well scoring four goals in his first four games.

However, he then went eight games without a goal before netting in the draw at West Ham in December.

Maupay then scored two goals in his next four games, including the winner against Leeds in January to take his tally to seven for the season.

But once again he went on another goalless run of 10 matches before scoring the third goal in their 3-0 win over Newcastle at the Amex before the international break to put him on eight for the season.

Maupay has not got his eyes set on beating the ten goals he scored in his debut season in the top flight.

Speaking to the clubs website, He said: “My aim is to always score more goals than the season before.

"I feel like I can do more on the pitch and I know I can score more.

"That’s something I am working on, so hopefully between now and the end of the season.

"Hopefully I will be able to help the team to stay in the Premier League and to beat my tally of ten goals for the season.”
