How Albion’s players rated against Chelsea:

Robert Sanchez 7/10:

Made a couple of good saves to deny Kai Havertz and Kurt Zouma but was not tested a lot.

Joel Veltman 7/10:

Made some good runs down the right wing and played a nice ball into Yves Bissouma to set him up for Albion’s best chance of the first half.

Ben White 7/10:

Did a great job of marking Christian Pulisic and keeping him quiet. Picked up a second yellow for fouling Callum Hudson-Odoi late on.

Lewis Dunk 8/10:

The Skipper led by example once again. Did well at holding off the threat of Havertz.

Adam Webster 6/10:

Made his first start since February. However, it was a tough night for the defender, who made some looses passes and gave the ball to Chelsea in dangerous positions.

Dan Burn 8/10:

Returned to the starting line-up and impressed. He made some good runs and was always looking to trying to get on the front foot.

Also did a great job at marking the nimble Reece James.

Yves Bissouma 8/10:

Got stuck into the battle in the middle of the park.

Had the best chance of the first half , when his effort deflected off Jorginho and went just over the bar.

Pascal Gross 7/10:

An impressive performance for the German in a slightly deeper role in midfield. Was composed on the ball and showed some nice touches.

Danny Welbeck 8/10:

Was played out wide on the left and went closest to giving Albion the lead when his curling effort hit the post.

Was replaced by Moder in the 86th minute.

Alexis Mac Allister 6/10:

Made his first start since March, but it was a quiet night for the midfielder.

Was replaced by Neal Maupay in the 73rd minute.

Leandro Trossard 6/10:

The Belgian winger struggled to get into the game and was replaced by Adam Lallana in the 59th minute.
