Albion chairman Tony Bloom would have been delighted this evening after one of his horse continued it’s impressive career.
Energumene, who is trained by Willie Mullins (pictured below) was sent off in the Ryanair Novice Chase at Punchestown as the 2/5 favourite and did not disappoint.
The seven year-old, who was ridden by Paul Towend, led from the start and extended it lead throughout and won convincingly by 16 lengths to scoop the €67,850 prize.
That win makes it four out four over fences this season.
Energumene was due to run in the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival last month where he a leading contender along with Shishkin in what was set to be an intriguing battle between the pair.
But Mullins revealed four days before the race that Energumene had encountered a hold-up in training.
