Ben White has been told he would be in the England squad if he were playing for Leeds.
The Albion defender is preparing to go up against the club he served on loan.
He could be marking Leeds striker and good mate Patrick Bamford.
Leeds were keen to take White back to Elland Road for this season but Albion had no intention of letting him go.
Bamford has told the Official Leeds United Podcast: “The fact Ben is back there makes it a little more interesting.
“I’ve WhatsApped him a little bit. He is enjoying it back there.
“I think it is because it’s where he is from.
“He is back with his family and friends.
“If he had stayed at Leeds he would have probably got in the England squad.
“He would be in the England squad.”
THE WITHDEAN FAREWELL, TEN YEARS AGO TODAY
Bamford has been in fine form this season, scoring 14 league goals.
But he has yet to secure an England call-up with Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa preferred for the most recent squad.
Albion will aim to complete the double, having won 1-0 at Elland Road in mid-January.
Bamford said: “It will be good match. I’m surprised they are really struggling against relegation because they play good football.”
