Graham Potter would have loved Albion to have been more than 1-0 up at half-time at Molineux.

But the head coach said a slow start to the second period, plus improvement by Wolves, cost his side.

Albion controlled the first half and led through Lewis Dunk’s fifth goal of the season.

Dunk and Neal Maupay later went close and the Seagulls had chances to create more danger.

Potter told The Argus: “We had some opportunities from set-pieces and we missed the last pass or they defended it well.

“I can’t think of any glaring chances we did miss, but I thought we had enough pressure and looked dangerous enough on the attacks and it would have been nice to be more than one up.

“But that can happen and, while it is 1-0, we also know anything can happen.

OUR POST-MATCH VERDICT FROM MOLINEUX

“Obviously once you don’t start the second half so well and get a red card, the game changes and the first half almost becomes irrelevant.

“I thought the players put everything into the game, so no complaints in that regard, it is just the opposition put some good attacking players on and we couldn’t quite see it out.”
