Graham Potter has backed his defenders to cope without Lewis Dunk.

But the numbers underline what a big miss the skipper will be as he serves a two-match ban.

Albion have taken just three points, from three draws, in the seven Premier League games Dunk has missed since promotion was secured in 2017.

Ben White and Adam Webster joined forces in central defence at Wolves after Dunk was red-carded on Sunday.

They could be the pairing at home to West Ham on Saturday – or form a three with Dan Burn or, if fit, Joel Veltman.

Potter thought White and Webster stood up admirably in the final 40 minutes at Molineux, even though Wolves clinched a 2-1 win.

“I thought there were blocks and we defended it well.

“It’s just a little bit of a combination and a bit of quality at the end that have done us.”
