Dan Burn says there are exciting times ahead for Albion after they secured Premier League safety.

But he was disappointed his old club Fulham went down.

Albion now know for sure they will play top-tier football for an unprecedented fifth successive season.

Burn hopes to see them pass last season’s haul of 41 points in the final three games.

The defender said: “There are definitely exciting times ahead.

“We’ve had a big turnover of players. The lads who have played a lot of games this season are ones that have come from other countries and cultures and need that time to settle in.

“The more time we spend together and get to know each other, the better we can buy into the gaffer’s vision and philosophy.

“We can only look back at this campaign positively.

“The club has the vision of being in the top ten and I can see that happening. We are building towards that.

“Our motivation between now and the end of this season is to beat the points tally.

“We’ve got three games to get four points.

“We’re not disappointed but we’re looking at the points tally we’ve got and believe we should have more and be higher up the table. It shows the fine margins in this league.

“The pressure is off now, so we want to pick up the points we want to progress.”

Survival was confirmed when Fulham lost to Burnley on Monday.

Burn said: “Every team I have played for I always keep an eye out for and hope they do well, so it was a shame that it was Fulham that went down.

“But I am delighted that we’ve secured our status at Brighton.
