The Albion midfielder has not made the cut for World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Colombia in early June.
He has struggled for opportunities in the Premier League for some time now.
Mac Allister recently told media in Argentina he would love to feature in the Copa America and Olympic Games this summer.
Emiliano Buendía of Norwich City is included in the Argentina squad for the first time.
