Sussex and England star Jofra Archer will undergo surgery on his right elbow soreness tomorrow.

The 26-year-old seamer had an injection for the long-standing problem in March and has played only two matches since then.

He started in Sussex's draw against Kent last week but managed to bowl just 18 overs in the match, with him not bowling in the final two days of the match.

A timeframe on his recovery is yet to be given in a year that includes the Twenty20 World Cup and an Ashes series in Australia.

A statement released by the Enlgand and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) this afternoon said: "Jofra Archer has been reviewed by a medical consultant in respect of his right elbow soreness.

"He will now proceed to surgery tomorrow.

"Further updates will be released in due course."
