Former Albion midfielder Gary Dicker has left Kilmarnock following their relegation from the Scottish Premier League (SPFL) on Monday night.

This season was their eighth season in the Scottish Premiership, and their 28th consecutive season in the top flight of Scottish football

However they were relegated after losing to Dundee FC 4-2 on aggregate in the Scottish Premier Playoff finals on Monday night.

The 34-year-old joined Killie in February 2016, but will leave the club at the end of his contract along with Clevid Dikamona, Aaron Tshibola, Youssouf Mulumbu, George Oakley, Diaguely Dabo, Nicke Kabamba, Danny Whitehall, Danny Rogers and Ally Taylor.

Dicker made 191 appearances in his time at the club.

He made 30 appearances in all competitions this season and picked up one assist.

The Irishman also took temporary charge of the Kilmarnock in February alongside James Fowler and Andy Millen following the departure of Alex Dyer.

But Kilmarnock manager Tommy Wright has hailed the role Dicker played.

He told the club’s official website: “It’s never a nice time when you’re releasing players, and I’d like to thank those leaving for their time at the club.

“In particular, I’d like to thank Gary Dicker. He’s been a wonderful servant and captain for Kilmarnock, someone who I have a lot of time for.

“Difficult decisions have to be made as we look to build for the future.”
