Former Worthing defender Fin Stevens plans to end his breakthrough season at Brentford with Wales Under-21s Success.
The 18-year-old, who was born in Brighton, is part of the squad for their opening UEFA U21 Euro 2023 qualifier against Moldova tonight (7:30pm).
It comes less than a week after he was an unused substitute in Brentford’s play-off final victory over Swansea.
But Stevens cannot wait for next season.
He said: “It’s been an unbelievable season. I started with the B team and my goal was to try and get minutes there.
“Then I had a few sessions with the first team and just stayed there.
“I got on the bench and got minutes. It’s been a very progressive season and Wembley was unreal. I’ll never forget it.
“It’s going to be really tough next season, but I can’t wait to get started.”
His journey to the Premier League has not been easy as he was released by Arsenal at the end of the 2018-19 season.
He then went to Worthing before joining Brentford in July.
He said:“When I left Arsenal I was doing GCSEs as well, so it was a tough time for me.
“At the time I thought it was the end of the world, but I went to Worthing and started playing every week.
“I was buzzing when Brentford came in for me, and now I want to get as fit as I can over the summer and push for more first-team minutes.”
