Former Brighton midfielder Gary Dicker is not surprised to see Yves Bissouma attracting interest from other clubs.

The 24-year-old has made the joint-most appearances this season in the league for the Seagulls with Ben White (36).

Bissouma heads the list of Albion prospects who are reported to be catching the eyes of top Premier League clubs.

Chairman Tony Bloom admitted last week that he foresees the ‘vast majority’ of the squad being with them next season.

But Dicker, who played in a similar role as Bissouma during his time at Albion, is not surprised to see him linked with top clubs.

He said: “He has been fantastic.

“It is always hard for a player when they come to England from another country and try to get used to the surroundings and Covid has made it even more difficult.

“But he has been outstanding.

“Bissouma is going to have a lot of interest in him and like any player he will be available, but it all depends on the price.

“I don’t think anyone is going to be out of reach for any football club with the money that is being spent despite the financial impact that Covid has had.

“I hope that Brighton keep hold of him, but if someone comes in with an offer of £60 or 70 million it would be hard to turn down.”
