Albion hat-trick hero Alex Revell rammed criticism from Dean Wilkins back down his throat - and the boss could not be happier.

The fired-up striker celebrated with Wilkins after his header from a Jake Robinson corner four minutes into injury time snatched a 3-2 victory for the Seagulls against Bournemouth at Withdean yesterday.

Wilkins dashed around from his seat in the north stand to the dugout during the first half to berate his front men.

He revealed: "I was pretty critical at half-time because I felt every free-kick we had and cross we put into the box was met by a Bournemouth head.

"He (Revell) came up trumps at the end and that run over towards me was, I think, meant as an up yours gaffer' but I did not mind it one bit.

"He is a blinding lad. We have got some great lads at the club and I am really pleased that he has gone in there with that sort of determination and aggression in the last minute."

Revell, who doubled his season's tally to six with the first treble of his pro career, joked: "When I picked him (Wilkins) up I wanted to throw him on the floor! The best way to silence him I suppose is by scoring and that's what I have done.

"I know he only wants to make me improve and, since coming back from injury, I have not been as good as I wanted to be until the last couple of games when I have been doing maybe not as much work but better work.

"I scored a hat-trick for Braintree against Worthing but I had not scored a professional hat-trick so it's a great feeling."

Albion are hoping to re-sign midfielder David Martot today on loan from Le Havre for the rest of the season, while Danish goalkeeper Jonas Jensen has rejoined them on trial.

Are Revell and Forster the partnership to fire Albion to the play-offs?
