Ben White's chances of featuring for England at the Euros have been dealt a blow.
That is after fellow centre-back Harry Maguire declared himself fit to start in England's eagerly-anticipated clash with Scotland at Wembley tomorrow night.
The 28-year-old's availability for the Euros had been in doubt after sustaining ankle ligament damage at the start of last month in United's win over Aston Villa, after Anwar El Ghazi landed awkwardly on him.
That saw the Maguire miss the rest of United’s season, including sitting out their Europa League final defeat on penalties to Villarreal.
He also sat out of England's opening match at Euro 2020 against Croatia, despite returning to training at the end of last week.
But Maguire has been training this week and insisted he is ready to start against Scotland.
He said: “Yeah definitely. Obviously it’s a big game.
"I’ve done a few sessions now and feel like my fitness is there, so, like I say, I’m available for the game.”
He added: “I feel good now that I have been training.
“Obviously the injury was a setback club football wise.
“Internationally I wanted to come into this with a lot of games under my belt with full fitness, but I feel good.
"I’m back available as I have been training and I’m looking forward to it.”
