Brighton have revealed that they have sold a record number of season tickets for their 2021-22 Premier League campaign.

The club have stated that 96% of available season tickets has now been sold, after initially securing a 92% renewal rate.

But given the Seagulls have expanded the capacity of the Amex, to just under 32,000 from the start of the upcoming season, there are still season tickets available to purchase.

Albion chief executive Paul Barber said:"We were delighted with the initial figure of 92% for season tickets, but with record season-ticket sales this further underlines the amazing support we have from the fans.

"The response has been phenomenal and there is no doubt fans can't wait to get back to the Amex next season.

"For those still thinking about a new season ticket or adding family members to their group, although some parts of the stadium are fully sold out, there is still limited availability across a number of areas, due to the extra capacity, but we would recommend that you buy now to ensure you get the best seats available.

"Like me, I am sure they will be further encouraged by the Premier League's announcement this morning that they are committed to being back to full capacity for the start of the new season.

"We fully understand that these are difficult times, so on behalf of Tony Bloom, Graham Potter and everyone at the club I would like to thank our season-ticket holders and 1901 Club members for this amazing show of support."

Barber has stated that Albion remain confident of opening at full capacity, despite the government announcing delay the easing of further restrictions, which had initially been planned for Monday, until next month.

He said: "We are working hard on the return of fans protocols, alongside the Premier League, and we will be working hard to provide a safe and welcoming environment for fans when they return, and we are confident we will be back to full capacity in time for the new season.

“For those contemplating a new season ticket, we have provided a covid guarantee to ensure if we do have to play behind closed doors or to limited crowds, those unable to watch games as a result will be reimbursed.

“We have also provided greater flexibility than ever before, by introducing a new sharing scheme, to help our season-ticket holders get the maximum benefit in the current climate."
