Moises Caicedo has responded to criticism after his Ecuador side dropped more Copa America points.
The Albion midfielder played the full 90 minutes of a 2-2 draw with Venezuela in Brazil.
Ecuador conceded two equalisers, the second of them in added time.
Fans are unhappy with results and believe Caicedo is showing the effects of a lack of playing time since his move to England.
Ecuador lost their opening fixture 1-0 to Colombia and face Peru later this week.
Caicedo said: “Three points slipped from our hands.
“We worked well - but that’s football. One lapse in concentration and three points got away from us.
“Nothing is impossible in this life.

“We’ll keep working to get the three points in the next match.”
Caicedo produced a solid if unspectacular performance in central midfield.
He generally kept the ball moving and his header led to his side’s scrambled opening goal just before half-time.
