Fans will flock to Wembley in greater numbers for the climax to Euro 2020.

And that could be good news for Albion and their Premier League rivals.

Capacity for the semi-finals and final has been increased to 75%, meaning more than 60,000 fans will now be able to attend.

Albion were studying the latest news in detail late yesterday.

But they are likely to see it as a forward step in terms of a return to normality at the start of the new league season.

Prime minister Boris Johnson last week put the lifting of restrictions back four weeks to July 19 to give time for more Covid vaccinations across the country.

It is understood Prem clubs did not see a four-week delay as something which would change their plans for the start of the domestic campaign in front of full stadia.

But clearly it was not the news they had wanted.

Yesterday’s development is more encouraging.

A crowd of 19,104 were at Wembley last night as England beat the Czech Repulic 1-0 but that number will grow quickly for the coming games.

Albion hope to stage a prestigious friendly against overseas opposition on August 7.

But they have yet to secure confirmation regarding quarantine requirements for a non-competitive fixture.

All Wembley ticket holders will need to follow a number of strict entry requirements, including having a negative Covid-19 test or proof of full vaccination - two doses received, 14 days before the fixture.
