The 29-year-old was a regular for Albion in their first three seasons in the Premier League playing in 95 of their 114 games after joining from PSV in August 2017.

However, last season injuries and the performances of other midfielders such as Yves Bissouma, Adam Lallana, Pascal Gross and Jakub Moder saw the Dutchman limited to just seven appearances in the Prem.
