Alexis Mac Allister has started work with Argentina under-23s ready for the Olympics.

Albion agreed to release their midfielder for the Games in Tokyo.

Mac Allister played a big part in helping his nation qualify.

He was allowed to miss a recent training camp, including two friendlies, in Marbella.

But he is part of the initial squad working in Buenos Aires and, barring any unforeseen setback, will be in the final 18.

Argentina play three group games between July 22 and 28 in Sapporo and Saitama.

The final takes pace on Saturday, August 7 - one week before the Prem season starts.

Albion's opening fixture is at Burnley, who have cleared striker Chris Wood to play for New Zealand at the Games.
