Maty Ryan has left Albion and agreed a deal with Real Sociedad.

The goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract with an option for a further year.

He joins La Real on undisclosed terms and subject to international clearance.

Albion boss Graham Potter said: “Mat has been a great servant to the Albion over the past four years and on behalf of the club I’d like to place on record our gratitude for his efforts.

“He’s a great guy, top professional and as someone who wants to be playing regularly at senior level he goes to Real Sociedad with our very best wishes.

“He’s been a pleasure to work with, he will be fondly remembered by everyone and always welcome back at the club.”

Ryan will compete for a starting role in LaLiga Santander and the Europa League.

A report in Spain today suggested there would be no up-front fee but potential clauses to pay depending on his progress, similar to the deal which saw Davy Propper return to PSV recently.
