Former Brighton striker Rianna Jarrett has joined WSL Championship side London City Lionesses.

The 27-year-old spent a season-and-a-half with Hope Powell’s side after signing in January 2020, where she scored two goals in 16 appearances.

But after being released last month the Republic of Ireland international has now signed for the London City, who finished sixth last season.

Jarrett was delighted to be secure the move and is looking to push herself and London City in the right direction.

She said: “I'm really excited to get going with LCL, a club which is professional and moving in the right direction.

"I got a great feeling from talking to Melissa and her staff, and all the players have been welcoming.

"I'm looking forward to challenging myself in the league, and being pushed in the right direction!"

London City's Head Coach Melissa Phillips said: “Rianna is a proven striker with strength that makes her an absolute handful on the ball.

"Her experiences both internationally and in the WSL add value to the squad and help us achieve our goals for the season ahead.”
