Record Albion signing Danielle Carter has told fans she is at the club to score goals.

The 28-year-old England international has signed for two seasons.

Although details of the deal which bring her from Reading remain undisclosed, it is the first time Albion have paid a transfer fee for a WSL signing.

Carter scored a brilliant FA Cup final winner for Arsenal at Wembley in 2016 and back-to-back hat-tricks for England in the same year, giving her six goals from four caps.

She said: “I will give my all in every game. Ultimately, I am here to score goals.

“Hopefully the goals I score will help us win games and end as high as possible in the league.”

Carter has never previous played for Albion boss Hope Powell but is looking forward to a successful link-up – with the potential fringe benefit of a return to England contention.

She said: “I hope she can restore that confidence in myself and I can end up being where I believe I can be.

“I’ve actually never played under Hope but, with the England youth groups, I’ve known about her and she has known about me.

“In terms of pushing me individually and as a team, hopefully we can achieve big things.”
