Albion loanee Billy Arce is facing three months out of action after being injured in a car accident.
The Ecuadorian forward suffered a triple facture to his left forearm.
Although chances of the LDU Quito man ever coming to England were already slim, this setback will have reduced them further.
Arce is going into the final year of his Albion contract.
He has had several scrapes with the authorities in the past.
But this time he appears to have been the innocent victim after another vehicle ran into the back of him.
Such have been Arce’s problems, he made his negative alcohol test public amid mounting speculation he had been at fault.
