Getafe’s club President Angel Torres has revealed that they have received offers for Brighton target Marc Cucurella.

The Seagulls are keen on the former Barcelona left wing-back, who is currently away at the Olympics with Spain.

He is understood to have a buyout clause of about £15 million.

Getafe boss Michel has already stated that he would like to keep the 23-year-old at the club.

Torres has echoed the views of Michel, insisting that the ‘best signing’ of the window for the La Liga side would be to keep the 15 or 16 players who stayed at the club last year, of which Cucurella was one.

However, Torres has admitted that they have received several offers for his services, with the best offer coming from an English team.

He said: “We have had several offers, the strongest is from an English team that continues to persist and that has offered him a good contract and he was ready.

“Now when he comes back we will see if he stay but I think not.”

Cucurella is currently preparing for Spain’s final group game in the Olympics this lunchtime (12pm) as they face Argentina, where he could end up lining up against Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister.

Spain sit top of Group C heading into the game and know a point will be enough to them secure a place in the knockout stages.

Argentina head into the game knowing they will need to better Australia’s result against Egypt to qualify for the knockout stages.

But given Spain are just one of four teams that are still unbeaten and are the only side in the competition yet to concede a goal it will be a tough ask to do so.

However, Argentina will be hoping Mac Allister can create chances to breach the Spanish defence.

His Albion teammate Tudor Baluta will be hoping to help Romania get back to winnings ways as they face New Zealand in what could be a really entertaining finish to Group B.

Romania, New Zealand, Honduras and the Korea Republic (South Korea) are all tied on three points.

The one thing that could prove vital is goal difference with Romania having the worst one with minus three.

To give them the best chance of qualifying they will be hoping to pick up a win and not concede against the Kiwis.

But to do so they will have stop former Seagulls striker Chris Wood, who has netted in both of their group games.

Another player that Albion are keeping a close eye on at the Olympics other than Cucurella is Japan’s Kaoru Mitoma.

Japan head into their final group game against France as the only team with a 100% record in the group stages.

That means that they only need a point against France to guarantee their place in the knockout stages.

Mitoma made his start at the Olympics on Sunday in their 2-1 win over Mexico.

Japan will have to keep the tournament’s top scorer Andre Pierre Gignac (4) out.
