Albion target Marc Cucurella will return from Japan as an Olympic medallist.
The Getafe star played the first 105 minutes in Saitama for Spain as they beat the host nation 1-0 after extra-time in today’s semi-final.
Marco Asensio’s fine strike late in extra-time settled the contest.
Cucurella, who played on the left flank of a back four, is now assured of at least silver as Spain prepare to face Brazil in the final.
Albion remain keen on the former Barcelona prospect and could bring him in for the new Prem season.
