Jofra Archer has been ruled out of all cricket for the rest of 2021.

The Sussex and England fast bowler suffered an injured right elbow last week.

Scans revealed that he has suffered a recurrence of a stress fracture of his right elbow.

He now misses the remainder of the county season along with the current Test series against India, the T20 World Cup and the Ashes series in Australia.

His return to action has been managed by England.

Archer had an operation in May to remove a bone fragment from his elbow but returned to play last month.

He reported increasing discomfort in his elbow during matches in the Vitality Blast at Kent and the 50-over friendly against Oxfordshire.

Archer is now taking a break from cricket before returning for a medical review in early autumn.
