It was a mixed weekend for Albion’s loanees and here is how they got on:

Teddy Jenks (Aberdeen):

Jenks got his first minutes in the Scottish Premiership (SPFL) this season as he started in their 2-1 win over Livingston yesterday.

He played a key role in the win as he equalised two minutes into the second half in superb style.

The ball fell to the midfielder 25 yards out and he struck a first-time effort which flew into the bottom corner.

It was Jenks first goal for the Dons in just his third appearance for the club and that helped them to maintain their 100% start to the season.

Jenks took to Twitter last night to post a picture of himself celebrating his goal against Livingston (pictured above) with the accompanying message: "No giving up 👊🆎 Fantastic win for the team and buzzing to get my first goal 🎯 @AberdeenFC #standfree"

The win leaves them second in the SPFL and only behind leaders Hibernian on goal difference.

Jenks will be hoping to keep in place in midfield on Thursday in their Europa Conference League qualifier against Icelandic team Breidablik at Pittodrie, where they take a 3-2 lead into the second leg.

Carl Rushworth (Walsall):

The keeper made his league debut for Walsall in their 1-0 defeat to Tranmere on Saturday.

Rushworth was not called into action until the 56th minute where he made a good save to push away Callum McManaman’s effort from a threatening counter attack.

However, 17 minutes later Rushworth was beaten by McManaman who swept home a cross from close range.

The defeat leaves Walsall 23rd in the table.

The Saddlers are back in action tomorrow night (7:45pm) as they host League One side Doncaster in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

Jensen Weir (Cambridge):

Weir was not part of Cambridge’s squad which drew 1-1 with Oxford United on Saturday through injury

He was due to return to training today ahead of their Carabao Cup tie against Swindon tomorrow night (7:45pm), but he remains some way from match fitness.

Matt Clarke (West Brom):

The defender was not part of the West Brom side which drew 2-2 with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Friday night.

Clarke was expected to play on the left side of a back three but was deemed unfit to play due to waking up Friday morning with a hip complaint.

West Brom manager Valerian Ismael was hopeful Clarke would be back in training this week.

After their draw with Bournemouth, he said: “We hope it’ll be two or three days, and then he can come back next week, but we will see.

“He said clearly he was not 100%, so he took the right decision. Hopefully he is back for the next game.”
