Crawley will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing opening day defeat against Hartlepool tonight in the Carabao Cup.

The Reds take on League One side Gillingham at The People’s Pension Stadium tonight (7:30pm).

However, they will be without centre-back Jordan Tunnicliffe.

The 27-year-old who was a regular at the heart of the Reds defence last seasonwas forced off in the first half against Hartlepool on Saturday and will not be available to face the Gills.

However, George Francomb will be back in contention having served a one-match ban for his red card in the final game of last season.

Head coach John Yems will want a better performance from his side after bemoaning the display in the 1-0 defeat to the Pools.

In the opposition dugout there will be a familiar face in former manager Steve Evans.

They kicked off their season with a 1-1 draw against Lincoln at Priestfield.

There will also be a familiar face to Albion fans in the squad in winger Mustapha Carayol.

He joined the Gills on Saturday and was named on the bench against Lincoln where he came off the bench to make his debut.

The 32-year-old made five appearances during a loan spell with the Seagulls in the 2014-15 season.

However, Evans has admitted he will ring the changes for the trip to West Sussex.

Speaking after their draw against Lincoln, he said: “Yes there will be changes, but I will address this after training on Monday.”

Gillingham could welcome back Ryan Jackson and Robbie McKenzie.

Kyle Dempsey came through a fitness test to play the whole of the 1-1 draw but could be rested this time out.

Alex MacDonald was not passed fit in time for that contest but could yet play some part tonight.
