Leo Ostigard has set his sights on another busy Championship season.

The Norwegian defender, 21, signed a new one-year deal with Albion, then went out on loan to Stoke City.

He signed in time to start against Fleetwood in the Carabao Cup last night.

Ostigard, who was a regular at Coventry last term, said he could have stayed to battle for Premier League minutes with the Seagulls.

But he added: “For me, it is very important to play as many games as I can.

“It is a very good step for me to play another season in the Championship, for Stoke now.

“It is always a hard choice.

“Maybe sometimes you have to take the risk and stay at Brighton.

“But right now, at my age, I want to play as many games as I can.

“That has been the case for me in the last two or three years. I just love to play games.”

Ostigard played the full 90 minutes as Stoke beat Fleetwood 2-1, operating on the right of a back three.
