Tariq Lamptey has been urged to enjoy playing football again on the road back to the Prem.

The Albion wing-back has been pictured training with the rest of the squad.

He remains absent from the Premier League with a hamstring problem which has sidelined him since December of last year.

But head coach Graham Potter is delighted to see him smiling again.

He told The Argus: “It’s great for him to be out playing football with the guys.

“Good for his mentality more than anything.

“He has been on a long, frustrating road.

“Just to play football with the guys was positive for him but obviously we have to be careful.

“He has to be modified, only in certain exercises.

“But it’s progress and it’s exciting for us.”

Lamptey was pictured on Albion’s website getting involved with warm-up drills.

Potter said: “He has done a little bit more than that.

“Not too much more but a little bit more so that’s positive.

“That was the plan, just building him up.”

Lamptey has been pictured with striker Danny Welbeck, who misses today’s game with his previous club Watford but is closing in on a return.

Potter said: “Danny is getting closer to playing.

"We still have to check off a few things for him before he's available for selection but that's promising for him and for us.”
