Match-winner Rashid Khan admits he would have loved to have gone with Sussex to another T20  Finals Day.

But the Afghanistan all-rounder was thrilled to help them back to the Vitality Blast final four.

Rashid thumped 27 off nine balls in a run chase as Sharks beat Yorkshire in the final over of a thrilling quarter-final.

His busy cricketing calendar means he will not be available for the big day in Birmingham next month.

Rashid said: “I just needed to back my skills, and thanks to the coaching staff for sending me in a bit earlier to finish the game.

“I tried my best to stay still and do the basics right - to hit my own ball.

“They bowled where I wanted it and I finished it off well.

“I’m so happy to see the team in the finals twice since I’ve been in the team.

“But it’s a shame I won’t be available for them at Finals Day. Every player would love to be there.”

After skipper Luke Wright made 54, Rashid went in with 43 needed off 21 deliveries to reel in a victory target of 178.

He blasted three fours and two sixes to see his side home.
