Jan Paul van Hecke looks set for a loan deal in the Championship.
Albion's Dutch defender is expected to link up with Blackburn Rovers before next Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
He spent last season on loan at Heerenveen in the Eredivisie.
Van Hecke, 21, has been sidelined by injury but is now close to fitness.
Albion head coach Graham Potter said on Monday: “Van Hecke is getting close to being back on the pitch, so he should be not far away, he is responding well.”

It is understood no deal has yet been completed.
Van Hecke would link up with Albion winger Reda Khadra, whose loan with Rovers is expected to be finalised ahead of the deadline.
