Neal Maupay has been urged to continue his flying start to the season.

And there is an outside chance he will get a chance to do that against Everton tomorrow.

Maupay is recovering from a shoulder injury after scoring twice in his one-and-a-half Premier League games so far.

There are suggestions his form has caught the eye of Everton boss Rafa Benitez.

While unable to rule out exits this month, Potter underlined the key role Maupay has played for Albion.

The Seagulls boss said: “He’s been important since he’s been here.

“You can tell by the amount of games he has played for us and the amount of time he has spent on the pitch.

“He’s a player that is developing all the time, like we all are. Not perfect but he has a lot of good attributes that the team appreciates.

“I am pleased he scored two goals in his last two games but there is also a lot of work that goes on outside of that which is important for the team.

“We are pleased with his start and hope that he continues.”

YVES BISSOUMA PRAISED FOR COMMITMENT TO BRIGHTON

Potter will know after a training today rather more about the chances of three of his recovering players featuring against Everton.

Maupay and Danny Welbeck both trained yesterday and have not been ruled out of some part against Everton.

Potter said of Welbeck: “He won’t be able to start but he might feature on the bench."

Enock Mwepu picked up a knock at Cardiff in midweek and has an outside chance of involvement.
